Plain-English terms

No fine print. This is everything that applies to every Contractasite website.

1. Website launch — $500 (one time)

• A custom multi-page website built from your business info and real project photos
• A quote request form that sends to your email
• Call and text buttons
• Links to your social profiles
• Basic search-engine setup
• Connection to your domain
• Hosting as described in section 5

Payment: a $100 deposit starts the build and counts toward the $500. The remaining $400 is due when you approve the final version, before the site goes live. Payment is by e-transfer or cash.

Deposit: the deposit is non-refundable once your first draft has been delivered.

2. Revisions

After you receive your first draft, you get one revision round. Send all of your changes together in one message, and they'll all be made. Changes requested after launch are handled as updates (section 3).

3. Updates — $75 per request

One update request is one consolidated message with everything you want changed — for example new project photos, text edits, a new service, a seasonal promotion or a blog post. One update covers up to about an hour of work and is usually completed within 7 days. Larger work, like new pages or a redesign, is quoted up front before anything starts. There is no monthly fee and no contract. You only pay for updates you ask for.

4. Your domain and your content

Domain: your domain (e.g. yourbusiness.ca) is registered in your name and belongs to you. You pay the registrar's yearly renewal directly, usually about $20–30/year. Contractasite can purchase and set it up for you at cost.

Content: your logo, photos, text and reviews remain yours. You confirm you have the right to use any content you provide.

Quote requests: form submissions go directly to your email. Contractasite does not sell or use your customers' information.

5. Hosting

Contractasite hosts your website at no ongoing cost to you, on modern static hosting that doesn't charge for sites like yours today.

• If the hosting provider ever starts charging: you'll get at least 60 days' notice and can choose to either cover the actual hosting cost, with no markup, or take ownership of your website at no charge.
• If Contractasite ever stops hosting: you'll get 60 days' notice, and your website will be transferred to you at no charge, so your site is never left stranded.
• Moving providers: Contractasite may move your site to a different hosting provider at no cost to you, keeping the same domain and content.
• Heavy traffic: if your site's traffic ever grows beyond what free hosting covers, you'll be told before anything changes, and the same two options above apply.

6. Ownership handover — $200 (optional, anytime)

At any time, you can have your website moved to your own hosting and code accounts, including setup on your computer, a walkthrough of how to make changes, and full control going forward. After the handover, you manage the site yourself. Updates from Contractasite are still available at the regular $75 rate.

7. Portfolio

Contractasite may show your website as an example of its work. Just say so if you'd prefer it not be shown.

8. Limits

Contractasite builds and maintains your website with care, but can't guarantee specific search rankings, lead volume or third-party services (hosting, domain registrars, email providers). If something on your site breaks because of Contractasite's work, it will be fixed free of charge.
